On this installment of the podcast show, we dig into the work of the Santa Fe, New Mexico-based label, PHYSICAL. After over a decade and a half of running the genre-defying DIY label Friends and Relatives, Justin Rhody has returned with this new label, focused more directly on documenting the experimental film, improvised music, conceptual poetry, and other sound-related projects that he’s involved in with various collaborators within the Santa Fe arts community and beyond.
This past week, I had a chance to chat with Justin, and we discussed his return to label activity with PHYSICAL, his involvement in co-running the No Name Cinema, his primary musical project K / S / R, his other projects in the works for the year ahead, and other topics. Also, for the first time in the history of the FFFoxy Podcast show, you’ll hear a full radio drama, one that Justin contributed to called Liquid Adjustment: A Santa Fe Soap Opera, which was recently co-released as a cassette by PHYSICAL and PRROBLEM Press. You’ll hear that interview with Justin in a few different segments throughout the show, along with the radio drama and other music selections from the PHYSICAL catalogue too. Hope you enjoy this episode. Feel free to get in touch if you have any comments or questions. As always, thanks for looking and listening
