I’ve once again compiled some of my favorite releases of the year and presented them below in an unranked, alphabetical list. As in the past, all of these releases have been played on the Free Form Freakout radio and podcast shows or will soon be included in an upcoming episode before the year’s end. Perhaps it’s a bit excessive, but I’ve listed 45 releases: 40 new albums and 5 reissues. While combing through the playlists and various albums I acquired throughout the year, I realized that I spent less time checking out reissues this year and more time just revisiting and further exploring older albums and artists’ catalogs in general.

There will be one more episode of the podcast show before the end of the year, a virtual roundtable discussion of sorts about favorite albums, songs, and who knows what else with long-time friends and recurring guests of the show: Chris Berry of Soft Abuse Records and Glenn Donaldson of The Reds, Pinks, & Purples. On the weekly Free Form Freakout radio show, Carl and I will also play some of our favorite albums and songs in the coming weeks, too. As always, thanks for looking and listening.
