FFFreakout #393 (Aired on 1/2/14)

During the first half of this week’s show, David spun some of his recent acquisitions from over the holidays, where he put his gift cards to good use to grip the 45th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the Velvet Underground’s seminal White Light/White Heat album and Captain Beefheart’s lost classic Bat Chain Puller, amongst other used bin gems. In the second half, Carl broke out some of his favorite releases from 2013, noting David Bowie’s The Next Day and Arcade Fire’s Reflektor as two of his top contenders for album of the year, while citing Lorde as one of the few popular artists that he and his young daughter could agree upon.
