On this episode of the FFFoxy Podcast, we spoke with Zully Adler, who records as Banana Head and is the driving force behind Goaty Tapes, a label that has been on our radar from the outset of the podcast show. Adler had actually started the label back in 2007 while still in high school, and he has gone on to forge a very distinctive look and sound with the Goaty Tapes catalog through his interests in various printmaking techniques and lo-fidelity recording applications. Goaty Tapes has put out releases by a number of artists that we have featured on our show over the years including Mad Nanna, Julian Lynch, Circuit Des Yeux, Baronic Wall, Son of Salami, and several others. We spoke with Zully about his work with Goaty Tapes and as Banana Head, and we also discussed Casual Junk – a new fanzine that he has written and published – that focuses on the work of seven like-minded artists combining interviews, stories, images, theories and commentary within its pages.
