FFFreakout #574-578

August has come and went, which means that summer is now sadly winding down, and we have to get back to our usual workaday grind. It was, however, a fun and eventful month that included great KMSU-sponsored shows in town from David Nance and Simon Joyner, a creative Grant Hart day sponsorship initiated by a loyal KMSU listener, out-of-town adventures to take in the solar eclipse, and a visit to the MN State Fair to sample some deep fried avocado and sweet corn beer. For those that have followed the show over the years, though, you might be asking: what about the annual August visit from Chris Berry of Soft Abuse Records? Let’s just say our busy schedules have pushed this tradition back a bit, so be on the lookout for that podcast/radio show during the month of September, a month, we should add, that is shaping up to be equally great with an epic 70th Birthday Bash show for the Legendary Stardust Cowboy with special guests The Spectors, the annual Rock Bend Folk Festival in St. Peter, and the Old Town Art Fair and Record Sale taking place. There’s plenty happening in the coming weeks. Lastly, the drawing included in this post was gifted to us by Hazel S., a talented young artist with a bright future ahead of her. We look forward to seeing any other exotic sea creatures or anything else she comes up with. As always, thanks for looking and for listening.
